The Academy awards of this year have been quite unlike those we’ve seen in the past years; they’ve been, we could dare to say, quite dull, indeed. Did the Oscar ceremony lose all of its ethereal verve? In fact, no shocking news, no scandalous gossip has been generated around the event of the year, and yet, many good movies have been awarded with the hard-earned Oscar.
Despite all this, among winners and losers, we could say that this show certainly was stolen by the gifted, award-winner, Lady Gaga. And we’re not referring to the red carpet only. Nominated as best actress in the successful blockbuster “A star is born”, all we can say is that she was definitely born under a lucky star; gifted with a beautiful voice, she performed on stage singing the song “Shallow”, with her sidekick Bradley Cooper, and together, the pair managed to magnetically draw the attention of the entire Dolby Theatre. In all fairness, we could say that on top of that she won our hearts not only with her performance or with her moving speech only, but also with her amazing look that wowed the crowd that sided the red carpet.
Besides the alluring presence of the real star of the Annual Academy awards, we’d better not forget that many other celebrities wore outstanding dresses and flaunted awesome outfits.
Such as this beautiful look chosen by JLo: a sparkling silver dress designed by Tom Ford.
Another outfit that’s definitely worth mentioning is the one of Glenn Close, who was literally the ultimate Golden Diva of the Red Carpet.
Overshadowed by the luminous figure of JLo there’s yet another actress who also caught the eye: Brie Larson.
An ultra-chic, elegant Celine less sumptuous than its rival version that made her look nonetheless less sexy with an extra-long slit, on the contrary, one might agree that it actually gave that Latin-beauty suited dress almost a rather Scandinavian charme.
Although we’ve seen a display of beautiful looks so far, someone who astonished the whole crowd was Charlize Theron’s brand-new hair colour that matched this celestial Dior dress, for which brand she’s since 2004 its testimonial.
The last piece is something a real design masterpiece. Gimbattista Valli gave his very best in this dress for Kacey Musgraves. Multi-layer pink tulle, essentially aerial, very tight around the waist to highlight her skinny figure.
How could we forget the controversial black velvet gown of Billy Porter? Whether it was a matter of bad taste, attention-seeking or just a bold choice, nobody can’t argue with the fact that it was the most unusual (and in my opinion different is not equal of inappropriateness) and ultra-gossiped dress of the Oscars Red Carpet 2019.
